The Chamber is the voice of business in northeast Nebraska.

  • Our goal is to generate a high energy level that creates an exciting environment for business and industry to thrive in Northeast Nebraska.
  • When we wake up in the morning, our only focus is “what can we do to help our business community?” We are concentrating on your business’ long-term success. Your business is not in this alone. Our 600 members and their 15,000 employees have your back!

 

The Chamber has helped bring the community back together to work as one

  • We work very closely each and every day with the City of Norfolk, our economic development partners, the county and the state agencies to help move Norfolk forward.

 

The Chamber is your emergency management partner.

  • We showed our true colors and spirit as a Chamber in the Norfolk flood recovery efforts.
  • We mobilized the troops to bring out 300 emergency volunteers within an hour.
  • We made and distributed 10,000 sandbags the night of the flood.
  • We saved millions of dollars of inventory and infrastructure.
  • We created a Norfolk Flood Task Force.
  • We brought Senator Johanns, Senator Nelson, Congressman Fortenberry and Congressman Adrian Smith to Norfolk to assist with flood recovery efforts.
  • We obtained US Army Corps of Engineer emergency permits within 3 days instead of 12 months

 

The Chamber is your paid lobbyist.

  • We represent your business everyday to politicians in Norfolk, Madison County, the state of Nebraska and Washington DC.
  • We host weekly conference calls with Senator Mike Flood when the legislature is in session.
  • We took 50 business and community leaders to Lincoln this year to meet with most of state senators and 30 state agency directors.
  • We partner with the US Chamber of Commerce to lobby on your behalf on federal legislation for the Norfolk area.

  • We visit 25 businesses each week to ask the question – “what can we do to help?”

 

The Chamber is your economic development partner.

  • We took the lead in the community to pass the LB840 economic development plan and served as the campaign manager for “Vote YES on jobs”
  • We are bringing two new restaurants to downtown Norfolk – J’s Steakhouse and Napoli’s Italian Restaurant.
  • We partnered with Elkhorn Valley Economic Development Council to bring Milk Specialties to town. Over 40 new jobs were created and 30 unemployed workers brought back to work.
  • We are continually working with many new industrial prospects – many with green collar job.
  • We help each and every day with business growth of existing Norfolk area businesses.       

 

The Chamber is your training partner.

  • We partner with Northeast Community College throughout the year on dozens of business seminars as the cosponsor.              

                                                                                                  

The Chamber is training Norfolk’s leaders of tomorrow.

  • We manage and coordinate Leadership Norfolk classes each year. Participation is the 2010 class was up 120%!  Classes are forming now for the 2010-2011 school year for this 9 month program.

 

The Chamber is your marketing, advertising and public relations partner.

  • We are very proud of what we have here in Norfolk and we scream it from the rooftops to the outside world.
  • We promote the community and our members businesses to the news media in radio, newspaper and television throughout the region. If you hear, read or watch a story about a Norfolk business – the Chamber is behind the scenes making it happen.
  • We bring our Chamber Ambassadors into your business to not only cut the ribbon on day one but we keep coming back to continue to promote you throughout the community.
  •  We created a new Chamber brand, website and Facebook to help promote your business.

  • We have dozens of networking events each and every month that allow you to get involved to promote your business.

 

The Chamber is building a new front door for the community.

  • We are building a new Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center at the corner of 7th and Norfolk Avenue to serve as the new first impression for the community and the region.
